Last Saturday (12.09.2026) we held our first Retro-Gaming-Tournament (RGT)!

Group picture taken after the Retro-Gaming-Tournament. Six people are looking into the camera smiling, while two people hold up a trophy.

The stakes were high, as the winner would take home the glorious Retro-Gaming-Tournament Duck Trophy (RGTDT).

Players competed in a wide range of different games, from old C64 games like Frogger (1983) or Ms. Pac-Man (1983) to arcade favorites like Fatal Fury 2 (1992).

Of course, we also had our trusty Williams Whirlwind (1990) pinball machine as one of the highlights of our line-up.

As the heat of the competition came to an end, two people had the same number of points and shared the trophy.

Final scoreboard of the retro gaming tournament. Place one and two are shared by kumi and jupfi with 9 points. Place 3 is shared by Phi and Refia with 8 points. Noniq is 5th with 5 points and flipper on 6th place with 3 points.

To cool down, we tinkered with the old Commodore MPS1230 printer to create printed banners and awards for the tournament's winners.

Without needing an internet connection or dealing with firmware blocks for third-party ink, we could just print out our designs directly on fan-fold paper. Take that enshittification! You can see the banner above our delighted winners:

It really was a lot of fun, and we hope to see many of you at the next RGT!
